I could not agree more.
Modernism has been around for around a century. “Cutting edge” music can also sound derivative. Everything comes from something any more. I’m convinced more than ever that what is new is the story that people tell with their music, rather than the language they use to create it. And, new musical narratives will always exist. [...]
