Subject: Composition degree advice
Dear Per, Some of the universities I taught/studied at had only six semesters of composition starting in the sophomore year, while others had eight semesters starting in the freshman year (some universities also have 7 starting second semester of their first year.) All systems seem to work fine (with various advantages and disadvantages for each.)
If you are not starting composition lessons until the sophomore year, but must offer 8 semesters of lessons, then I suggest you count another composition oriented class, like computer/electronic music, counterpoint, [...]
