I’m writing this quick request on behalf of Rob Voisey who runs www.composerssite.com<http://www.composerssite.com> (along with tons of other things he does through Vox Novus).
I’m sure most of you know this website and (like me) use it often. Some of you will have noticed that recently most of its listings suddenly disappeared. This evidently happened because of a catastrophic server failure and, although the site survived intact, the huge database of content was zapped.
I’m writing because we, collectively, easily have the power to repopulate the database by adding all the opportunities we already know about. If you’re willing to help, just take a few few minutes to use the “submit” button (or go straight to http://www.composerssite.com/node/add) and add any competitions, faculty openings, calls for scores, etc. that are on your radar.
Rob has been busy this week organizing a terrific series of New York concerts this week celebrating the 15th birthday of Vox Novus. I’m amazed at the scope of the Vox Novus activities - Composer’s Voice, 15-Minutes of Fame, 60x60, Circuit Bridges, and more. They accomplish a great deal with limited resources, and I’m sure there are many hundreds of composers who have benefitted from these programs.
Let’s give Vox Novus a nice birthday present and help get The Composers Site back up to full size again.
