Subject: Video of Larry Barnes's new Kentucky song cycle
Hello SCI members. I am pleased to share with you the premiere of my new song cycle, “Where I Am Now,” composed on work by four Kentucky poets: three poets-laureate and a Pulitzer Prize nominee. Sopranos Joanna Manring and Amanda Balltrip gave a wonderful performance, and you’ll hear bits of ragtime in the second song and a slow drag blues to close. I hope you enjoy them.
