Love and Loss, two one-act chamber operas by Martin Halpern, will be presented at the Bridge Theater, Shetler Studios, 244 West 54th Street, 12th floor, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October 2, 3 and 4 at 8 PM and Sunday, October 5 at 3 PM.
The first opera, The Stronger, freely based on a play by August Strindberg, is set in a café on Christmas Eve, where Miss Y, an unmarried actress, and Mrs. X, a former actress now married to Miss Y’s former lover, exchange reflections on their current situations.
