Subject: SCI-V: A KUDO & A COMPLAINT
Greetings, Mark (and my fellow SCI composer colleagues). Thanks for your thoughtful words on this topic - a topic which seems to have drifted a bit from its catalyst in Professor Vollinger's April 15 post. My reply to that post was perhaps unclear, so let me reiterate my main points, doing so a bit more in the abstract here.
1) I object to anyone's veiled criticism of another's non-injurious behavior. I recoil from judgmental appraisals of my behavior, be it what I choose (or am able) to do or choose not (or am unable) to do.
2) I don't apply the word "should" to my own behavior, and I certainly wouldn't apply it to that of others'.
