Subject: Leo Kraft is dead
Dear members of SCI,
It is with sadness that I report the death of Leo Kraft. Born in 1922, he was one of the dwindling few composers who studied with Nadia Boulanger. He was, for many years, a staple of the small new music scene in New York City. Many of our members studied with him at Queens College. He was a founding member of SCI, the Society of Music Theory, and the American Music Center.
