Submissions for the Sewanee Summer MusicFestival 19’ are now open!
The Sewanee Summer MusicFestival is pleased to announce its Composition Program for the Summer 2019.
Students selected to studycomposition at Sewanee will have multiple opportunities to have their musicperformed, workshopped and coached during the festival. Students will enjoyweekly lessons, work with faculty and guest artists and have ample time tostudy, compose and collaborate with fellow students and faculty members. Theprogram is capped at four student composers in the composition track, in orderto allow ample time for reading sessions, rehearsals, and performances.
The dates of the festivalare: June 15th – July 14th 2019
Program highlights include:
- Reading session with the Sewanee Symphony - Chamber music performances on the student chamber music series (composers will be assigned to chamber groups)
- Master classes in contemporary composition and performance techniques with selected festival faculty and guest artists - Composition studio recital - Private lessons - Group seminar
