Assistant Professor in Composition
Position: Full-time, 9-month, tenure-accruing faculty position
Date of Expected Hire: August 16, 2019
Salary: Competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The School of Music seeks an Assistant Professor in Music Composition.

Responsibilities: Teach lessons and courses in composition (acoustic and/or electroacoustic), theory and additional areas depending on the candidate’s qualifications and departmental needs. Maintain creative/scholarly and service contributions appropriate for a faculty member at a major university and serve on university committees as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must hold a terminal degree or professional equivalency. Master’s degree required. Evidence of success in promoting an environment that advances diversity, equity and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience beyond assistantship at the university and graduate levels. Engagement with current compositional and technological trends and scholarship. Evidence of significant compositional activity, scholarly research, publications, presentations, professional performance, conducting and/or other musical activities. Evidence of a commitment to innovative, online and cross-disciplinary curricula.
