*2018 Fall Call for Scores*  View in browser here: http://bit.ly/callforSCORES
It’s hard to believe that fall is here, and the end of 2018 is right around the corner. PARMA has experienced a fruitful summer, with milestone achievements such as the launch of our annual China tours. Now, we are looking forward to the events of this fall season - which include our latest Call for Scores. In addition to being recorded, selected submissions will be considered for live performance. Previously accepted scores have been performed in Poland, Russia, Croatia, Austria, Czech Republic, the United States, and more.
We are currently accepting submissions for:
- Solo Piano or Piano Concerto Works - Prague CZ
- Woodwind Quintet Works - Boston MA
- Orchestral Works with or without soloists - Prague CZ
*Guidelines*
Please submit PDF scores and corresponding MIDI files or live recordings via our Project Submission form.
Selected scores will be recorded and commercially released by PARMA Recordings. The submitter is responsible for securing funds associated with the production, and retains all ownership of the master and underlying composition.
Works should ideally be between 5 and 15 minutes in length, but pieces outside of that range will still be considered.
Deadline for all submissions is October 19, 2018. There is no fee to submit.
You will receive a confirmation of receipt for submissions. We will work with the performers and our Sessions, Audio, and A&R Teams to select pieces that could fit these open projects. Should your music be selected, we will reach out to you with more information on pricing, scheduling, and other details.

*LUKÁŠ KLÁNSKÝ: PIANO - Prague CZ*
PARMA will be recording an album of new works for solo piano with Czech pianist Lukáš Klánský in Prague CZ. The pieces on this upcoming album will be performed in concerts by Klánský following the recording sessions.
Klánský is considered to be a rising star in the Czech music scene. He performs both solo and with orchestras and chamber ensembles including the Lobkowics Trio, the Chamber Symphony Orchestra Pardubice, the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, and the Hradec Králové Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed for esteemed conductors such as Libor Pešek, Andrea Sebastian Weiser, Gundi Emilsson, and István Dénes.
After studying at the Prague Conservatoire, Klánský finished his studies at the Academy of Performing Arts. He is the winner of the 2014 International Johannes Brahms competition in Pörtschach Austria.
*ARCADIAN WINDS: WIND QUINTET - Boston MA, USA*
Compositions for wind quintet will be recorded in Boston for an album with Arcadian Winds, the acclaimed New England-based contemporary wind quintet. They have worked with PARMA on multiple successful recording projects, and we look forward to similar results with this album.
Arcadian Winds formed at Boston University in 1987. Since then, they have premiered dozens of works by living composers, with a mission of bringing contemporary music to audiences across Boston and beyond. Members of the ensemble have performed in the Women's Avant Festival, the Gaudeamus Competition in Holland, the Steinert & Sons Concert Series, Tillett Gardens’ "Arts Alive" Festival, the Whim Historic House Concert Series, the Longy Concerto Competition, the Young Artist Competition, and the International Double Reed Conference.
Works selected for this album will be programmed for a curated compilation album through a PARMA label imprint.
*JANÁČEK PHILHARMONIC OSTRAVA: ORCHESTRA - Ostrava CZ*
PARMA is thrilled to announce our partnership with one of today’s leading Czech orchestras: the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava (JPO). We are currently accepting submissions of works for orchestra, with or without soloists, to be recorded by the JPO. All works recorded with the JPO will be considered for concert programming during their regular performance season.
The JPO is a world-class symphony orchestra based in Ostrava CZ and an emerging figure on the international performance scene. With over 100 top-level musicians, the orchestra aims to introduce unique, quality repertoire while showcasing their own recognizable sound.
Around the same time that Ostrava was being frequented by composers including Paul Hindemith, Leoš Janáček, Sergei Prokofiev, and Igor Stravinsky, a Radio Orchestra was formed in the city. In 1954, this ensemble was established as the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava, and began touring two years later. The JPO has appeared over its history with notable names such as Plácido Domingo, José Carreras, Diana Ross, and Joseph Calleja to name a few, and it has remained one of the most notable orchestras in the Czech Republic.
