SCI members in the greater San Jose/San Francisco Bay area areinvited to a concert in downtown San Jose on Tuesday, April 10, 2018.“Contemporary Music South Bay” features compositions by current and former SanJose State University composers. Brian Belet’s2016 brass quintet Three by Five willbe premiered by the Brass Act Quintet. On this same concert, Belet (viola), StephenRuppenthal (flugelhorn), and Sarah Jones (violin) will perform Allen Strange’s Misty Magic Land (2004), for any number of performers andelectronics (fixed and interactive). Music by Pablo Furman, Dan Wyman, FredCohen, Aaron Lington, and Mauricio Rodriguez will also be performed.
