Subject: This Weekend: Two New Music Concerts near DC
Dear Colleagues,
If you will be in the Washington, DC area this weekend, the founding members of District New Music Coalition invite you to attend our inaugural concerts on March 3 and 4 in Silver Spring, MD.
First, on Saturday, March 3 at 7:30 pm, DNMC hosts mezzo-soprano Megan Ihnen and saxophonist Alan Theisen, who will present “This World of Yes,” a program that explores the themes of pathways, choices, and duality (more information here <https://www.districtnewmusiccoalition.com/area-events/2018/3/3/this-world-of-yes-hostedby-dnmc>). Megan and Alan’s performance is located at the Washington Revels Studio Space, 531 Dale Drive, Silver Spring, MD, 20910. Free admission, suggested donation: $10
Then, on Sunday, March 4 at 3:00 pm, DNMC presents “Confluences,” a program of new music for string quartet featuring the Anacostia String Quartet, our spring 2018 ensemble-in-residence. Saturday’s concert takes place at Denizens Brewing Co. and features beer and music pairings! (More details here <https://www.districtnewmusiccoalition.com/area-events/2018/3/4/dnmc-at-denizens-brewing-company>.) This is also the first in a series of three identical programs held in different Metro-adjacent venues around the DC area to increase the accessibility of contemporary live performance. Denizens Brewing Co., 1115 East West Highway, Silver Spring, MD, 20910. Free admission, suggested donation: $10
Both of these concerts are located within walking distance of the Silver Spring Metro Station (Red Line).
