Subject: ANNOUNCEMENT: Updated course information: Eastman School of Music contemporary music summer course in Paris, June 9-July 6, 2014
Applications are now being accepted for Eastman's four-week summer course in Paris, offered in conjunction with the ManiFeste-2014 new music festival and academy organized by IRCAM (Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique).
This three-credit, graduate-level theory and analysis course is open to graduate students and advanced undergraduates from a range of backgrounds, including composition, performance, theory, and musicology. Course repertoire will focus on music of the past 20 years, with an emphasis on composers featured in the festival, including Georges Aperghis, Chaya Czernowin, and George Benjamin. In addition to seminars led by McGill University professor Robert Hasegawa, students will attend masterclasses and workshops as auditors at the IRCAM academy.
