Subject: advantages and disadvantages of institutional decentralization?
Dear SCI friends, I wanted to get some feedback regarding a recent issue at my University. We are considering the issue of decentralization, meaning taking decisions out the higher administration in various ways and putting control into the departments, etc.
I would very much like to hear your thoughts and input about both the positive and negative effects of this type of shift, including if you can cite how your system works and experiences you have.
