Subject: Summer Festival in Assisi with composition seminar presented by Orlando Jacinto Garcia and the Suono Sacro Ensemble
Dear Colleagues,
A reminder that I will be presenting a summer course in beautiful Assisi, Italy this summer as part of the Suono Sacro Festival that may be of interest to some of you and/or your students. The deadline for applying is coming up in just a couple of weeks.
As mentioned before the course will focus on music and spirituality and will provide participants with the opportunity to work with me and have a new composition rehearsed, recorded, and performed by the Suono Sacro Chamber Ensemble as part of the festival. I am providing general information below with updated links FYI but please do feel free to forward this email with links to all of the particulars to any students and/or other colleagues that you feel may be interested and do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.

The course taking place from July 31 to August 6 will include group meetings where the concept of sacred music/spirituality in the 21st century will be discussed including a review of works by Part, Messiaen, Gubaidulina, among others. In addition, students will meet individually in private composition class sessions with maestro Garcia as they create a new work to be rehearsed and performed and recorded in concert by the Suono Sacro Chamber Ensemble during the festival.
