Subject: Phase music
Fellow composers,
I am researching phase music techniques and aesthetics; in particular the sort of phasing that occurs at smaller than notatable intervals--in other words, the phasing of Steve Reich's Come Out and It's Gonna Rain, but not his Violin Phase or Piano Phase. I would be very interested to hear from other composers who employ this or similar techniques as a significant aspect of their compositional processes; with the goal of an article for publication. If you are interested in participating and possibly having your music/thoughts included, or if you know of a composer who meets the criteria, please email me directly (and not the list) at coleman at hkbu.edu.hk
Thank you!
