Sorry to add very little to what David MacDonald said, but I have heard back from my inquiry to Albany Records, and, as promised, will share the essential parts of that email. As David said in his SCI post, the appearance of works from Albany on Youtube is part of an arrangement the label made with Orchard (a digital distributor). Albany did reveal that they have received "communication from other composers." Although Albany went ahead with this, they were quite frank about their frustration that "meaningful compensation" from YouTube, Spotify, etc. is lacking. Probably not news to anyone. [...]
