Subject: MP3s and composers
I am wondering if any of my SCI colleagues/friends can enlighten me about the mp3 industry's inability (read "unwillingness") to differentiate between pop music tracks/albums and classical music tracks albums. I note that:
1) mp3s, when offered for sale, are linked to "Artists" (i.e., primary performers) and are thus searchable by performer name, but there is no "live"-link *category* of Composer on the mp3 page. Of course, this model is appropriate for pop music, where either the performer is the composer or when "nobody cares" who wrote the "song". [...]
